Which NFC chip implant do I choose?

Don’t be confused by the wide selection of NFC chip implants. We are happy to help you if you are unsure or can not decide. In general, however, it can be summarized – if you want to interact with a smartphone, i.e. write and read business cards or links via smartphone, the X2 NFC implant is the right choice. There are also additional modules for the X2 implant, such as the X3Z electronic locking cylinder. If you want to work with existing electronic locking cylinders and NFC access control systems that only support MIFARE Classic chipsets and you are not an Apple user, the X3 or X3 Elite is the right choice. If you would like to add your NFC implant to an existing access control system, we show you here how to determine the correct NFC chip implant.

You can show and hide implants by clicking on the model in the legend.

Explanation

Range

To determine this value, the reading board X3P USB and X2R Stick were used. The guide value is without unit of measurement and refers exclusively as a comparative value to other implants.

Smartphone

Some chipsets cannot be read or written with all smartphone models. Main causes are: Restriction by the operating system, a too thick smartphone case or one that shields NFC signals (metal).

Access / access control systems

If you want to control access systems with your implant, we have determined a value based on user experience and manufacturer that reflects the probability of compatibility. This value is not a substitute for a detailed test using a test implant.

Readers

There are a number of RFID / NFC readers on the market that can read NFC transponders. Many of these readers do not support all formats or are simply too weak to read NFC implants.

UID / Encryption

Each implant has a UID or CUID or also called ID in the case of 125Khz chipsets, which can identify themselves on control units etc.. This serial number, which is usually read alphanumerically, varies in length and is encrypted to varying degrees.

Distribution

Door locks, readers and smartphones can read passive NFC transponders. Manufacturers of these devices determine which chipsets are supported. Therefore, there is a different distribution of individual chipset types. However, this is not an indicator that this chipset must also be the right one for you.

Memory

The memory size of the chipsets, is often overestimated and attributed too great a benefit. The memory of the implants is very small, but more than sufficient for most requirements. A business card, for example, requires only a memory of about 100byte.

    MIFARE® Classic compatible chip implant

The NFC implant with 1K-4KByte memory and high compatibility.

With this package you get everything you need to implant a NFC chip at a piercer you trust. The X3 version enjoys a high level of acceptance among existing readers and smartphones due to the widespread use of the MIFARE® Classic chip.

The X3 NFC Chip Implant is a real all-rounder and, thanks to the smartphone-supported NFC chipset, not only suitable for access systems. Like the X2, it can be read out with the Android or MS operating system without an app. Writing is possible with a writer such as the ACS U 122. The installed MIFARE Classic transponder is the most widely sold NFC transponder chipset and was originally designed for smart access systems. However, the large memory also makes this implant ideal for many other functions, which can be easily written to the implant using the NFC Tools app. This NFC chip implant is suitable for all users who need more memory than the X2 implant offers and have the possibility to write to the implant via USB Writer (ACS 122 U).

Versions

X3 LED

If you also want to light up with your X3, this is the right implant for you. An LED chipset has been added to the regular NFC chipset and is activated when an NFC field is approached. Attention: BETA phase presale

X3

If you neither need a 125KHz function nor the possibility to change the serial number, you can choose the standard version of the X3 without hesitation.

X3 Elite

The elite version of the X3 offers the option of changing the actual UID (serial number) using a reader. This means that existing Classic transponders can be cloned without having to teach the implant to an existing system.

NFC RFID Chip Implant with Sterile Injection Device

The low budget with less storage with all the more range!

With this set you get the chipset incl. Hypodermic needle. If you need more memory, we recommend the X2 or the X3 NFC implant. If you do not want an intervention from one of our partners, simply select “Without service”.

The X Range NFC implant with the built-in
iCode SLI chipset
is ideal if you value readout range and are still looking for an NFC chip implant in the low-budget sector. Unfortunately, you have to accept small compromises in terms of compatibility and storage space. The installed memory of 106 bytes is just enough for a business card. However, those who only want to exchange contact data or links with their NFC implant can access it here without hesitation. Unfortunately, the implant has to take a back seat when it comes to NFC access systems, since this ISO standard is rarely used for locking cylinders. Originally, this ISO standard was designed for industry and warehouse logistics, which also benefit from smartphone compatibility and high readout range despite the RF of
13.56MHz
benefits. This NFC chip implant is only suitable for those who want to read and write simple small data sets via smartphone.

RFID implant with sterile injection needle

The RFID implant for home automation and access technology

This implant features LF RFID technology and can be integrated into existing locking systems. Thus, the batch or transponder card becomes obsolete. If you are unsure whether this technology is compatible with your access system, we recommend a test card or test implant to check compatibility.

The X1 RFID implant is based on a 125kHz chipset. This is intended exclusively for authentication of access devices and control units, as the chipset has a high range due to the low frequency. We offer this in two versions and two sizes each. The EM4200 chipset, is a read-only version and successor of the EM4102 chip. This version cannot be written, only read. Alternatively, the EM4305 chipset is also available, which can also be written using the corresponding writer. The advantage over the read-only chipset is that the serial number can be changed at will. Please note that both versions cannot be read or written with a smartphone. A corresponding reader / writer is necessarily needed to use the implant. This chip implant is only suitable for those who want to control door locks, control units, alarm systems, etc. with 125kHz and do not want smartphone NFC support.

Versions

X1

The classic X1 i.e. EM4200 can only be read out and is used for 125KHz reading units like older access systems or to identify objects. Attention! The implant cannot be read out and described with a smartphone like the other implants.

X1 Elite

The Elite version of the X1 is writable and has the same “UID” feature as the X3 Elite. In addition, the Elite version (EM4305) has a 512bit EEPROM memory, as well as a 32 bit password function.

Specialist Chipsets

The X4 NFC chip implant is based on a real microcontroller. Like our NFC standardized implants X2, X3 and Range etc., this can also be written to by means of many smartphones, since this NFC chip implant also has a formatted NDEF memory, but this implant is largely used for authentication. The very high security standard of 128bit AES encryption, provides optimal protection against brute force attacks and the like. In addition, the NFC chip implant has a number of applications that are themselves computed in the chipset such as binary and counting operations. The X4 has a 7Byte UID and a relatively large memory of optionally up to 8KByte. The X4 also takes advantage of ISO14443-4, so the integrated NXP DESFire® EV1 / 2K-8K chipset can be written to and read without an app by most popular smartphones. Since this chipset is very complex, the readout time can last up to 1 second, which sometimes leads to the user aborting the read-in process too hastily. This NFC chip implant is suitable for those who would like to delve deeper into NFC matter and depend on high security standard and large memory.

The X Shine implant is only a true NFC chip implant in the broadest sense, as it only uses the 13.56MHz frequency to power itself or the LED. The implant does not have a storage space or similar and is therefore categorized more as an aesthetic upgrade. The implant glows in neutral white, since you would only see a slight difference anyway due to the color change when it shines through the skin. The implant can be powered with an NFC-enabled smartphone or reader so that this starts to glow. This remains until the smartphone moves away to several centimeters. This varies greatly depending on the smartphone model. This implant is suitable only for those who are looking for a very special piercing.
